A state-of-the-art laboratory marks a new era for the college in their quest to transform the learning environment and provide inspirational facilities for students. The college provides a whole range of courses for up to 20,000 students and businesses every year. Being one of the largest providers of apprenticeships with a reputation for high standards, an experienced design, manufacture and install team was needed to complete the project.

The Brief
Our brief was to create a state-of-the-art laboratory designed to inspire learning whilst maximizing the use of space.
The Solution
Working closely with the college, Innova provided a full turnkey solution (including M&E works) during term time with minimum disruption to the staff and students. The new stylish laboratory included Innova’s Hot Corner layout which is designed to provide shorter lines of communication and a more collaborative approach to learning. As opposed to the traditional row upon row layout of benches, the Hot Corner design creates a more versatile room, addressing the need to provide both a working classroom and practical laboratory within the same space.
In addition Velstone worktops provide a durable and stain-resistant surface ideal for science laboratories. Combined with an interactive TV, ergonomic seating, sinks and fume cupboards – the new laboratory at Vision West is equipped for the future of learning.
