OE Electrics Limited, is an innovative global, electrical, power and data solutions provider, for the education, office, leisure and healthcare sectors.
As a fast paced growing organisation which is continually expanding, OE Electrics invested £6.2m to develop purpose built headquarters for their advanced manufacturing, R&D, assembly and distribution facilities.
The new build allows the company to cater for an increase in demand for its products and growth which will help towards the creation of 144 office, assembly and apprenticeship roles over the next eight years.

The brief
As part of their new build development, OE Electrics required a fully functional R&D laboratory completed within just four weeks to coincide with their grand opening. Innova Design Group, highly recommended for their outstanding performance on a previous project, was the clear choice for this time-sensitive task.
Following detailed discussions and evaluation of our capabilities, Innova was appointed to manage the laboratory installation.
In close partnership with the R&D team, Innova transformed the initial concept into a cutting-edge laboratory design. The final space was intelligently designed to combine functionality with flexibility, featuring custom-built storage solutions to securely house specialised equipment. This collaborative effort resulted in a workspace perfectly suited to support innovation and advanced research at OE Electrics.
Innova's custom furniture met our specific needs, and their professional, fitters ensured a smooth installation process. Features like the mobile tool cabinet allows us to adapt the layout for larger test equipment, offering flexibility unavailable with standard off-the-shelf solutions.

The solution
The laboratory design was delivered with a central island facilitating a removable worktop section and plenty of tailored storage around the perimeter, including large cupboards with sliding doors, bespoke deep drawer units and mobile storage to house their specialist equipment and keep work areas clutter free.
MFMDF carcasses ensured longevity and quality of the units whilst Resopal antistatic work tops provided the perfect surface for electrical experimentation to take place.
The Lab interior harmonised with the company’s refreshed branding and the sleek interiors of the new building, creating a modern, 21st-century workspace.
This state-of-the-art facility now provides a flexible and spacious environment where researchers can efficiently develop and test new products. With all operations consolidated under one roof, the company is well-positioned to boost exports and expand into new markets.
