Project brief
Innova was tasked with designing a space that would both inspire a love for science and offer a flexible, multi-purpose environment to meet the varied needs of students and staff. The project required a comprehensive turnkey solution, encompassing ceiling design, lighting, electrical systems, plumbing, gas installations, and decoration.
The main goal was to transform the existing space into a dynamic auditorium, expanding seating from 24 to 50 students, and creating an environment that supports a wide range of activities. This included everything from hands-on experiments to group discussions, all aimed at fostering a passion for learning and encouraging collaboration among students.
The success of the installation means the theatre now also hosts lectures, guest speakers, visitors, film club and internal meetings.
The solution
Innova transformed a compact, underused 7x8m space, originally seating just 24 students, into a dynamic, modern science theatre designed to accommodate over 50 students. The new layout optimised the space, creating an inviting and functional environment for learning.
With cutting-edge facilities, the theatre supports interactive teaching, collaboration, and engagement, making it an ideal space for hands-on learning.

The design features a central teacher’s desk equipped with full science services for demonstrations and experiments, allowing students to observe, interact, and learn. Additionally, integrated writing tablets were incorporated, offering a versatile space that can be used across various subjects, further enhancing the theatre’s flexibility.
