The brief
As part of a re-development programme resulting from the company’s expansion, Animax was looking to upgrade its research and production facilities with a larger suite of 3 commercial labs to provide a state-of-the-art environment for the manufacture of veterinary medicines.
Animax needed to keep its existing lab operational during renovations, so the company required a phased approach to minimise disruptions to ongoing scientific work. Innova developed a comprehensive three-week plan outlining the schedule and timing of access for other trades involved in the project.
To optimise space and improve workflow in the QC lab, our designer created a layout with dedicated areas for sample management, write-ups, and approvals. The addition of reagent shelving provides extra storage for reagents and equipment, streamlining organisation and ensuring efficient operations.
Innova provided an outstanding service, with their project manager readily available to address and resolve any concerns immediately. The new workspace that has been created has had a transformative impact—our team now has more room to work and operate far more efficiently.

The solution
To maximise desk space, trunking was installed beneath the shelving to hold the electrical sockets, keeping worktops clutter-free. The lab now features ample storage, including custom units designed for large drums, improving both organisation and workflow.
The R&D and Instruments laboratory were designed to facilitate testing, with perimeter benching and plenty of storage units manufactured from quality, durable MF MDF for equipment.
Trepsa Toplab Plus was selected for the worktops due to its antibacterial properties and resistance to a wide range of harsh chemicals.

Supply & installation of fume cupboards
New fume cupboards were supplied and installed to improve ventilation and safety. Additionally, Innova oversaw the relocation of internal gas cylinders to outdoor storage, enhancing safety by reducing the risk of leaks and optimising space efficiency within the laboratory. This move allows for easier maintenance and monitoring of gas supplies while minimising potential hazards.
