As a specialist science college, Swanshurst School briefed Innova to refurbish six laboratories into space efficient, inspirational, functional interiors.

The Brief

As a specialist science college, Swanshurst School selected Innova to refurbish six laboratories into space efficient, inspirational, functional learning spaces. Designs and layouts needed to optimise teaching and learning in each room as well as maximize student numbers.

The Solution

A full turnkey solution was provided, from initial design through to manufacture and installation including all utilities, decoration, ceilings, lighting and flooring – ensuring a hassle free project for the school and site management.

From teacher walls, which house interactive and sliding write on white boards, well designed storage spaces, ensuring chemicals can be stored away safely to equipment and books neatly hidden from view, keeping work areas clutter free.

Room designs varied by space,  included both fixed and flexible furniture solutions with hot corner classroom designs and fixed utility pods/ loose tables to provide alternative classroom layouts. Use of accent colours ensured a contemporary environment for students to excel in.

The mixture of fixed and flexible benching accommodates various teaching styles, allowing both practical and theory work to be easily completed. With durable Trespa surfaces used throughout, the laboratories are set to serve the future generation of learners.
