Marbcote Limited is a leading manufacturer and distributer of a wide range of high technology release agents and industrial coatings for the Global Composite & Rubber market.

The company’s extensive product range coupled with their ability to formulate to customer requirements, allows them to provide significant process benefits as well as cost savings for each client.

In order to enhance Marbocote’s impressive reputation of quality services since 2001, the company planned to modernise their Technical and R&D facilities.

The Brief

In March 2019, Mabocote approached Innova to create inspirational designs for their R&D and Technical laboratories. The key aim of the development was to promote their services, maximise space and build more practical and efficient working environments.  Working closely with their scientists, the designs were developed in line with their workflows and processes creating space efficient practical 21^st century layouts.

The Solution

Innova provided a part turnkey solution for the technical laboratory refurbishment, which included an electrical upgrade, installation of new fume cupboard and introduction of nitrogen gas into room from nearby bottled supply.

The lab design features an island workbench in the centre of the room with an extendable Plymovent extraction vent above. This creates a pragmatic focal point as the workspace is accessible from all sides of the room with adequate circulatory space.  The rest of the workspaces, along with the new fume cupboard were installed around the perimeter of the lab, minimizing hazards and clutter.

Plenty of storage has been accommodated around the perimeter including double, single cupboards and drawer units, helping to keep an organised and safe environment . Open shelving gives easy access  to a variety of chemicals and equipment frequently being used.
