Science Lab Survey – Terms & Conditions

  • The prize draw is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over who are science teachers, heads of science, bursars and business managers of secondary schools in mainland United Kingdom. Employees of the Promoter, their families, agents or any third party directly associated with administration of the prize draw are not allowed to enter.
  • The prize draw is free to enter and no purchase is necessary. To qualify for entry into the prize draw, all 10 questions must be answered and contact details including full name, job title, school and email address submitted.
  • The opening date for entries is 09:30 on Wednesday 16th The closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday 29th April 2016. Entries received after this time will not be counted. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind
  • All individual question responses will be treated as the opinions of individuals, not of the school or educational establishment they work for. Responses and outcomes will be treated as private and will not be shared by the Promoter, its partners or agents with staff, governors or managers of secondary education schools. Teachers sharing the outcomes of their questionnaire via social media or otherwise, do so at their own risk.
  • The overall results of the survey will be collated and turned into statistics that present a picture of the quality UK school science laboratories.
  • A winner will be chosen by random draw performed by a computer process OR supervised by an independent person on Friday 13 th May 2016.
  • The winner will be notified within 28 days of the closing date by email or telephone (using details provided at entry) before Friday 27th May and must provide a postal address to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond to the Promoter within 14 days of being notified by the Promoter, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and the Promoter will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above
  • The winner will receive a visit to their school, college or educational establishment from Science Made Simple who will deliver three mutually agreed shows over the course of one academic day on a mutually agreed date. The visit is worth up to £650 plus VAT.
  • The prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered. The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so. The Promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value. No cash alternative will be offered, nor is the prize transferable. Any tax liability arising from the award of a prize will be the responsibility of the recipient.

  • The Promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  • Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
  • The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
  • The winner’s name and county can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope to Georgina Fowle, Innova Design Group, Unit 4A Crossley Park, Crossley Road, Heaton Chapel, Stockport, SK4 5BF OR an email to within 28 of days after the date of the closing date of the prize draw.
  • Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
  • Winners may be required to participate in publicity related to the prize draw. By entering the draw, you agree that the school, college or educational establishment that employs you will take part in any promotion activity relating to the competition which may include the publication of their name and photograph in any media. No payment will be made in regard to this. The winner agrees to the used of his/her name and image in any publicity material. This will work in accordance with the winning school’s permissions procedure.
  • Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion may be passed on to third party suppliers only insofar as required for fulfilment/delivery/arrangement of the prize. Personal data relating to entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to another third party without the entrant’s prior consent.

  • The prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
